Pese a caer con España, Chile avanzó a octavos de final y enfrentará a Brasil
La selección chilena consiguió hoy una ajustada clasificación a octavos de final de la Copa del Mundo, finalizando en el segundo lugar del Grupo H, después de caer ante España por 2-1. La tricolor mostró imprecisión, ansiedad y un dejo de irresponsabilidad cuando más se requería de otra buena actuación, tal como en sus dos primeros compromisos. Cometió errores que se pagan demasiado caro ante un rival de la jerarquía de España, que terminó por ganar la serie, aunque sólo por diferencia de gol. David Villa a los 25’ y Andrés Iniesta a los 40’ anotaron para los ibéricos, y Rodrigo Millar a los 47’ puso el descuento. A los 41’ fue expulsado Marco Estrada.
